Mention Two Reasons on Why Tungsten is Used for Making Filament of Electric Bulb

Answer: 1. Because tungsten has a high melting point and does not oxidise, it is utilised in electric bulbs. As a result, even when a considerable quantity of heat is generated owing to current passing through the filament, the tungsten filament does not melt.

2. Tungsten has the lowest thermal expansion coefficient of any pure metal. The strong metallic connections created between tungsten atoms by the 5d electrons give tungsten its low thermal expansion, high melting point, and great tensile strength.
