Difference Between Short-Circuit and Overloading

Answer:

  • Short Circuit

A short circuit happens when there is an error in the path from the line to the ground. In most short circuits, the neutral and live wires come into contact. The current is strong when there is a short circuit.

  • Overloading

Excess current is drawn from the supply when equipment is overloaded. Devices in a single socket may get overloaded if there are too many of them. During overload, the current is low.
