Artificial Magnets were Discovered in Greece. (True or False)

Answer : False.

Magnets found in their natural state were first discovered in Greece.

Magnets always contain both a south pole and a north pole in some form or another. As with other types of magnets, a cylindrical one has two poles. There is no record of any artificial magnets having been discovered in Greece.

Only organic magnets were found to exist in Greece’s soil. A Greek philosopher named Thales of Miletus discovered that naturally occurring iron ore had the ability to attract microscopic bits of iron.

The Magnesian region of Asia Minor, which is now part of Greece, is where the ore was found. Because of this property, the mineral was dubbed magnetite during its discovery.
