The whole numbers are a collection of positive integers from 0 to infinity and are without fractions. All these numbers exist in the number line. All the whole numbers are said to be real numbers but all the real numbers may not be whole numbers. The whole numbers are never negative and they are represented by the symbol ‘W’.

Examples of whole numbers

Numbers such as 0, 1, 2,3, 4, 5, etc excluding negative integers, fractions and decimals are natural numbers. This is also called counting numbers including zero and are part of whole numbers.

Examples- 1, 12, 34, 55, 100 are whole numbers.

The smallest whole number is zero (0) as there is no positive number less than zero and whole numbers do not include negative values and start from zero ranging to infinity. It also excludes fractions, decimals, etc.
