Why did Dayanand Saraswati say go back to Vedas?

Answer: Dayanand Saraswati had the goal of reconnecting society with its ancient traditions. It was determined that consulting the Vedas was the most effective course of action.

This would also help in the eradication of untouchability, the worship of idols, and the instillation of the belief that there is only one God in the minds of the people.

Dayanand Saraswati was a scholar and a sanyasi (also known as an ascetic) from the time he was a child. He had complete faith in the infallibility of the Vedas as a source of knowledge. Dayananda was a proponent of the teachings of Karma as well as Reincarnation.
