Answer: Bhagat Singh was a famous Indian freedom fighter who was born on September 27, 1907. He was born in the village of Banga in the Lyallpur district of Punjab. He was the second child of their parents i.e. Vidyavati and Kishan Singh Sandhu. 

  • In 1926, Bhagat Singh founded the Naujawan Bharat Sabha, whose aim was to encourage revolution against British Rule
  • In 1928, he also established the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) along with Chandrashekhar Azad, Sukhdev and others
  • Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw a bomb into the Central Assembly in Delhi on April 8th, 1929. He was arrested and charged for the Saunders murder case, along with Sukhdev, Rajguru, and others
  • They were ordered to be hanged on March 24th, 1931 at Lahore Jail, which was carried out a day earlier. To honour Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, 23rd March is celebrated as Shaheed Diwas, Martyrs Day or Sarvodaya Day
