Answer: Area-wise Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Maharashtra have the second, third, and fourth largest forest cover in the country, respectively, after Madhya Pradesh.
On January 13, 2021, the government of India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MOEF&CC) published the India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2021.
This report is published every two years. Sharing the findings of the report, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav of the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change stated, “The total forest and tree cover of the country is 80.9 million hectares, which is 24.62 percent of the geographical area of the country.”
