Rajya Sabha Term
The Indian Constitution has not specified the exact term of the Rajya Sabha office members and exited it to the Indian Parliament. Therefore, the Indian Parliament in the Term of the People Act (1951) delivered that the period of the Rajya Sabha office members shall be six years.
The Act correspondingly authorized the Indian President to curtail the term of members selected in the foremost Rajya Sabha. In the foremost batch, it was chosen by lottery as to who should quit.
Additionally, the Act likewise permitted the Indian President to make requirements to control the order of retirement of the Rajya Sabha office members. Under this, the Indian president created the Rajya Sabha as per the Term of Office of Members Order, 1952.
