The African Elephant is considered to be the biggest terrestrial animal alive on the planet.  However, it is not the world’s biggest land animal. In the earth’s 4 billion-year history, there have been species far larger than an African Elephant. The Argentinosaurs are the biggest terrestrial animals on the planet. It was a 97 million-year-old dinosaur that formerly roamed the continent of South America. According to fossil evidence, Argentinosaurs weighed a remarkable 88 metric tonnes. More than a third of a dozen African elephants are in this picture.
