The State Police Services (SPS), commonly known as State Police, are the police forces that are under the supervision of the state governments of India’s states and union territories.
The respective state governments recruit for this position, usually through State Public Service Commissions. Some of the positions are filled by the Staff Selection Commission, which conducts exams across India and hires candidates based on their qualifications. SPS follows the same process as IPS in terms of recruitment.
