What is the Full Form of LOC and POK?

Answer: LOC

Line of Control is the full form of LOC. The Line of Control (LOC) connects the sections of the former princely state of Jammu & Kashmir that are ruled by both India and Pakistan. The Line of Control is a de facto border for both India and Pakistan.

The Line of Control (LOC) is a 740 kilometre border that separates Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) from India’s state of Jammu & Kashmir. The line is frequently guarded by sharply pointed wire coils, a type of fence erected by the Indian army. The Indian army controls the line on the Indian side of the LOC, while Pakistani control posts manage the line on the Pakistani side.

It was first known as the Cease-Fire Line, but when the Simla Agreement was signed on July 3, 1972, it was renamed the ‘Line of Control.’

The Jammu and Kashmir state & Kashmir is recognised as the component of the old princely state under Indian authority, while the Pakistan-controlled remainder is divided into Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

POK

Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir is the full form of POK. In 1947, Pakistan actually invaded Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). POK has been split into two parts: Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. In 2020, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir+Gilgit Baltistan) had a population of approximately 52 lac people.

Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) is a portion of Kashmir that borders Pakistan’s Punjab province in the northwest, Afghanistan’s Wakhan corridor, China’s Xinjiang region, and Indian Kashmir to the east. Pakistan claims to have a self-governing legislature in Occupied Kashmir (POK), however it is actually controlled by Pakistan.
