Question. What is the arrear amount in the electricity bill?

Answer: An arrear is a legal word for a portion of a loan that has become obsolete due to failure to pay the required amount. It refers to the amount due from the due date of the first missed payment. If someone does not pay their electric bill, the electric provider may turn off their electricity within a few weeks.

Though it is done as a last resort, at first, it will give you notice. They can call you and will ask you to provide an electricity bill, or they will add the arrear amount to your electricity bill. So, you have to pay those arrears so that they won’t stop your power. If you never pay your electricity bill, they might shut down your electricity.
