Question: What is meant by HYV?
Answer: Seeds of the High Yield Variety (HYV) were produced by scientists in order to increase the food supply and decrease the prevalence of hunger in less developed nations.
These HYV seeds, sometimes known as “miracle” seeds, have the potential to yield up to 10 times as many harvests as conventional seeds when grown on the same amount of land.
