Answer: There are floodplains in the Himalayan region known as the Daurs, which are located in Assam, a northeastern state, and West Bengal, a northwesterly state.
Daur’s elevation ranges from as low as 90 metres to as high as 1750 metres, depending on where you are. The Terai is a region in Nepal and northern India. Materials that are washed ashore during floods form the basis of a floodplain, which in turn is a source of its creation. Known as silt, it happens when rivers overflow, resulting in floods that leave behind particular particles called daurs.
