Name the last Viceroy of India. State any one of the Provisions of the Indian Independence Act of 1947.

Answer: Lord Mountbatten has been the last British Indian Empire viceroy and the 1st Governor-General of India after Independence. Lord Mountbatten does have some intentions and arrangements for India’s development. The territories of India and Pakistan came into reality on the 15th and 14th of August 1947 and began their journey as sovereign countries.

Lord Mountbatten’s plans and provisions

  1. British India was supposed to be divided into two territories, India and Pakistan.
  2. It was agreed that the Constituent Assembly’s legislation would not apply to Muslim-majority communities as it would turn to Pakistan.
  3. Sind’s legislative assembly had the authority to determine whether or not to join the Indian regional parliament. It eventually decided to go to Pakistan.
