Answer: Bern is Switzerland’s capital city. Bern is not technically Switzerland’s capital city, although the country’s government buildings are located here.
Switzerland’s de facto capital is Bern because of the Federal Palace, which houses the Swiss Parliament. Otherwise, Bern would simply be known as a Federal city.
