Answer. Arid soil is of very bad quality. It is very infertile; nothing can grow in this kind of soil, and it is known for its deficiency of water in it. This type of soil cannot hold water and contains minerals like calcium carbonate, sodium, and gypsum. 

This soil type is mostly brown and red coloured and has a texture similar to sand. This soil is characterized by its saline nature and high calcium content, and the water also evaporates faster in it. The soil can be made cultivable by proper irrigation.
