Give a Brief Life Sketch of Laxmi Lakra.

Answer: Background: Laxmi Lakra became Northern Railways’ first female engine driver. Laxmi Lakra is from a destitute tribal family in Jharkhand and attended a government school. She worked really hard to obtain a diploma in electronics. She later took and passed the railway board exam on her first attempt. 

Achievements: She was Northern Railways’ first female engine driver. In this way, she defied the assumption that engine drivers could only be men. ” I have challenges and the moment somebody says it is not for girls,” she explains and further stated “I make sure I go ahead and do it” 

Difficulties: Laxmi has had to defy the stereotype several times throughout her life, including when she wanted to study electronics, when she rode motorcycles at polytechnics, and when she decided to pursue a career in medicine.
