The UPSC is in charge of administering the Combined Defence Services Examination, also known as the CDS Exam for short. 

This exam is used to recruit Commissioned Officers for the Indian Military Academy, the Officers Training Academy, the Indian Naval Academy, and the Indian Air Force Academy.
