Answer : Nouns that refer to groups of people, animals, or things are known as collective nouns. These may be any sort of noun. They are used to denote a category of a certain variable.
We may indicate that we have seen a person or item as a member of a group by referring to them by their collective nouns when we wish to say that we have seen them in that capacity.
A group of animals or cattle is referred to as a herd when speaking in a collective sense.
