What Does Courage Mean To Mandela?
Courage refers to “setting up your mind and having the willingness to face danger or any difficulty with spirit”. Courage is a mental and moral strength. It is willpower to get victory over dangerous or hard situations. The other term s which can be used in place of courage are bravery ,spirit, power, etc.

As per Mandela, courage means there is no presence of fear but to get victory over odds. A man can be brave not when he doesn’t feel fear or is not afraid of anyone or anything, but at the time, when he conquers or get victory over their fear.
Mandela knows the meaning of courage seeing the warriors and the freedom fighters fighting for their countries, values, rights while sacrificing their valuable life to get freedom from the oppressors. Courage means fighting and getting the victory overcoming fear.

Mandela was the first president of South Africa serving from 1994 to 1999. He had been the leader of Anti-Apartheid movement and done welfare of the black population in Southern Africa.
He improved the living standard of the South African dark skinned population. He had worked very hard to address the issues of inequality between people due to factors like race, colour, language, religion, etc. He hoped to see people live together with love, equality, and peacefulness without any discrimination in a country.
