Answer: A theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer (1904–1967), lived in the US. Oppenheimer oversaw the study and creation of an atomic weapon while serving as the head of the Los Alamos Laboratory throughout the Manhattan Project. Also, as the “father of the atomic bomb,” he is well-known. Oppenheimer was renowned as a brilliant theoretical physicist when the Manhattan Project began in the fall of 1942. He had got heavily involved in researching the potential of an atomic weapon. The US launched two atomic bombs against Japan just under three years following General Leslie Groves appointed Oppenheimer to lead nuclear development.
