What is the Formula of Dead Burnt Plaster

Answer: Anhydrous calcium sulphate (CaSO4) is found in dead burnt plaster. It’s called dead burnt because it doesn’t set like the plaster of Paris when wet with water. 

The water of crystallisation is lost when plaster of Paris is heated over 393 K, and the anhydrous calcium sulphate CaSO4 That remains is known as dead burnt plaster.
