What is Pseudo Inert Gas Configuration

Answer : In the Pseudo Inert gas configuration there are 18 electrons present in (n-1) shell rather than 8 electrons in (n-1) shell electronic configuration on gaining or losing of electrons. The d orbital, together with the s and p orbitals, is said to be filled in pseudo gas configuration.

Certain elements, ions are stable because their valence shells are complete, but they do not have the configuration of a noble gas. This is referred to as a pseudo noble gas arrangement.

Example of pseudo inert gas configuration:

Cu2+ Its outer shell has 18 electrons.
