Answer: The compressibility factor, also known as the compression factor, quantifies the degree to which the thermodynamic parameters of a real gas diverge from those of an ideal gas.
It is a correction factor that precisely measures how much a gas’s behaviour at a given temperature and pressure deviates from its ideal behaviour. It is often used to modify the ideal gas law.
The definition of compressibility factor is frequently “the ratio of the molar volume of the gas to that of an ideal gas.” Its formula is Z = pV / RT.
