Elements revealed from antiquities to the Medieval Era (thirteen components), from the Ancient World to 1799 (twenty-one components), from 1800 to 1849 (twenty-four components), from 1850 to 1899 (twenty-six components), from 1900 to 1949 (thirteen components), from 1950 to 1999 (sixteen components), and from 2000 onwards (five elements so far). There are roughly 120 inorganic components recognised.
