How is Curd Formed from Milk

Answer : The milk gets converted into curd/yogurt through a chemical process known as fermentation.

The curd gets formed due to the presence of lactic acid bacteria and its reaction with the protein called casein. During the process of fermentation bacteria majorly use the enzymes so that they could produce energy from the lactose (ATP).

The lactic acid is the by-product of ATP production, this acid works on the protein globules present in the and later denatures it too.
