A strand of yarn is a combination of filaments and fibres. A yarn is been composed of both kinds of fibres, synthetic as well as natural fibres. The composition is either in staple form or in the form of the filament. A filament is a fibre that is big in length. A filament includes both, natural fibre as well as synthetic fibre.

The various properties of yarn include,

  • Yarns are composed of strands. These strands are thin in nature and are also known as fibres
