Answer:  Agar is used to prepare jellies and ice cream. Agar is obtained from Gracilaria and Geridium. Carrageenan is used as an emulsifier in chocolates, paints and toothpaste. Its source is red algae. Algae are also used as liquid fertilizers to help repair nitrogen present in the soil.
