Why is Water Called The Universal Solvent

Answer:  Water has polarity due to which it can dissolve. Water is capable of dissolving different substances as compared to any other liquid. No one on the earth can survive without water, weather, animals or plants. Water has chemical and physical attributes, which makes it a universal solvent. Oxygen has a negative charge, and hydrogen has a positive electrical charge; that is why molecules are attracted to water.
