Answer: The senatorial node is a specifically modified cardiac muscle located in the human heart. This muscle is responsible for initiating the contraction of the heart. It may be found in the atrium on the right.
Because of this, it is commonly referred to as the pacemaker. Myogenic describes the human heart since the SA node is responsible for starting the heartbeat, and the impulse that causes the heart to contract originates from inside the heart itself. Myogenic cells can also be found in the arteries of animals and molluscs.
