Botany is the study of plants and it is a part of biology.
Theophrastus, a Greek scholar, was one of the world’s first botanists. Due to his extensive writings on plants, he is also recognised as the “Father of Botany.” Plants were categorised in one of his publications, “Enquiry into Plants,” based on their geographical ranges, sizes, applications and growth habits.
