Answer: The small intestine is indeed the longest part of the alimentary canal.
- The digestive tract is 7 meters long. It is roughly three and half times the complete body length. The food passes through the intestinal tract in about 4 hours on average. The presence of several forecasts known as villi expands the total area of the small intestine.
- The small intestine is the primary site where the breakdown and digestion of consumed granules occur.
- The small intestine helps in the transportation of food that is not fully digested and left unabsorbed by the body to the large intestine.
The small intestine is also further divided into three different parts which are namely:
- Duodenum
- Jejunum
- Ileum
