What is the purpose of the replication fork?

Answer: Replication of DNA appears to occur when the cell cycle’s synthesis process begins at previously defined DNA fragments known as replication beginnings; this beginning is also referred to as origin firing. So when the process of replication origins seems to have been activated, the DNA replication enzymes organize into a format known as the replication fork (rf), where such a protein group collaborates with the replication process.

• It is termed a fork since its simplification structure shows the shape of the fork which is two-toned but the main role is far from straightforward since it serves as the site of functional changes across a large collection of proteins.
