What is the Function of the Stomach

Answer: The digestion of the food that we eat takes place in the stomach from where it is transported to the small intestine. The stomach stores food temporarily. Also, it contracts and relaxes for mixing the food as well as breaking it down. Lastly, the walls of the stomach releases digestive juices, hydrochloric acid and other enzymes for making the process of digestion smooth.
