What is The Full Form of NADP⁺

Answer: The full form of NADP⁺ is “Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate”. The NADP acts as a cofactor and preferably comes in use in Anabolic reactions. Some of the anabolic reactions like the Calvin cycle, lipid synthesis and nucleic acid synthesis use this coenzyme NADP⁺.

The NADP⁺ acts as the primary acceptor of electrons and usually functions as a reducing agent. The NADP⁺ is reduced to form NADPH (This is the reduced form of NADP). All forms of cellular life use NADP⁺ without any exceptions. The general function of this coenzyme is to produce energy for various reactions taking place in the cell. The reduction mechanism of NADP⁺usually takes place during the photosynthesis and plants.
