Answer: Follicle-stimulating hormone is the official name of the FSH. One of the gonadotrophic hormones is follicle stimulating hormone (or FSH), along with luteinizing hormone (or LH). Both are released into the circulatory system by the pituitary gland.  Among the hormones necessary for adolescents as well as the operation of women’s ovaries and men’s testicles is a follicle-stimulating hormone.  Even before the egg is released from one ovarian follicle at ovulation, this hormone in women encourages the formation of ovarian follicles within the ovary. Additionally, it stimulates the ovaries’ synthesis of oestradiol. Follicle-stimulating sperm production in men by acting just on Sertoli cells in the testicles (spermatogenesis).
