Answer: Grana as well as stroma can be described as crucial structures of the chloroplast. Grana refers to the disk-like plates implanted in the stroma. Stroma can be understood as a jelly-like, homogeneous matrix present in the chloroplast. Photosynthesis’s dark reaction takes place in stroma whereas the light reaction takes place in grana.  The core difference between stroma and Grana is that stroma dissolves various enzymes needed for photosynthesis whereas grana are connected to one another by integranal lamella.
