Answer: Grana as well as stroma can be described as crucial structures of the chloroplast. Grana refers to the disk-like plates implanted in the stroma. Stroma can be understood as a jelly-like, homogeneous matrix present in the chloroplast. Photosynthesis’s dark reaction takes place in stroma whereas the light reaction takes place in grana.
