Protein polymers being large and complex molecules play major roles in the human body.

Answer: Protein polymers are made up of 20 major types of amino acids. Amino acids are combinations of three DNA building blocks. 

Examples of protein polymers are haemoglobin, gelatin, enzymes and antibodies. 

  • Antibodies: Their role is to fight against a foreign invader. Examples of antibodies include immunoglobulins. 
  • Enzymes: Enzymes carry out various chemical reactions within a cell.
