What are Bulliform cells? What are their Functions

Answer: Bulliform cells spread within the epidermal cells of the leaf. It is important to store water within plants. In conditions of stress, bulliform cells generally assist in rolling leaves to avoid water loss during transpiration. Bulliform cells generally control the transpiration processes of the leaves. They are usually found in the grass, which is monocots. It will appear as bubble-shaped epidermal cells on surfaces that are upside of the leaves. The main function of bulliform cells is to reduce water loss by absorbing water when they are in abundance. During the time when water is less, they tend to shrink to retain the same.
