Name the Tissue that Stores Fat in our Body

Answer: Adipose tissue, commonly known as Body fat. It is found beneath the skin, surrounding internal organs, and within muscles, bone marrow, and breast tissue. It is present throughout the body.

Men tend to retain more visceral fat (fat surrounding their inner organs), resulting in obesity in the midsection. Women, on the opposite, have higher levels of subcutaneous fat in the bottoms and thigh areas.

These variations are caused by the sex steroids generated by men and women.

Adipose tissue is already recognized as a vital and functioning endocrine organ. Adipocytes are well known to play an important function in storing and discharging energy all through the body.
