Answer: UNEP stands for United Nations Environment Programme. This agency looks after the well-being of natural elements of the environment. The council was introduced by Maurice Strong who was the foremost Director of the UN. The organization’s headquarters are situated in Nairobi, Kenya. Its present Executive Director is Danish environmentalist Ms Inger Andersen.
The fundamental goals of UNEP have revolved around certain pressing environmental issues. They look after:
