Seed germination is indeed a crucial part of a plant’s growth. When the necessary circumstances for germination are present, the processes it uses for germination kick in. When environmental conditions are unfavourable, seeds do not germinate.
Seed dormancy is the term for this. When a seed germinates, it develops into several components that are the precursors of plant development. The hypocotyl and epicotyl were two of the most significant structures in the plant.
The epicotyl is a segment of the embryonic axis that runs between the cotyledons and the plumule, whereas the hypocotyl is a segment of the embryonic axis that runs between the cotyledonary node as well as the radicle. The main distinction between epicotyl & hypocotyl is this.
