• This type of soil is mainly found in the Deccan areas (Basalt) and is spread throughout the north-western Deccan plateau. This soil is made out of lava residuals. The areas where it is prevalent are Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Chhattisgarh, Malwa, Maharashtra and along the Krishna and Godavari valleys
