  1. Democracy: Democracy is a democratic state in which all citizens of the Nation are equal under the country’s law. Now that India is a democratic country, the Nation’s citizens, no matter from what background they belong, elect the representatives to form the government. 
  2. Equal Fundamental Rights: Six fundamental rights are provided by the Constitution of India. Each country’s citizens equally enjoy these fundamental rights without any discrimination. Fundamental rights contribute a lot to the citizens’ welfare and all-round development. 
  3. Equal Fundamental Duties: Indian Constitution also states the fundamental duties that every citizen of the country must comply with, no matter whether one is rich or poor. It is the fundamental duty of each citizen to honour the country’s Constitution and its ideals, national anthem, and national flag.  
  4. Secularism: The Constitution of India declares the country to be a secular one. It means that each country’s citizen has the right to practice any religion. The government can’t discriminate against the country’s people against any religion.
  5. Identical Symbols: National emblems are also adopted by the Indian Constitution, inspiring the citizens to have ideals and loyalty. These national emblems and symbols include the national flag (Tricolour), the national anthem (Jana Gana Mana), the national song (Vande Mataram), national symbol (Ashoka Symbol), etc.

National integration majorly contributes to the Nation’s political, economic, cultural, and social aspects. Here are the following ways knowing the meaning of national integration and practising the same can help the country:

  • Promotes Social Harmony: National integration makes the country’s citizens live in harmony. National integrity promotes the social bond between people and thus, it endorses brotherhood, peace, and tolerance among them. 
  • Unites the Nation: the main aim of practising national integration in the country is to unite people of different caste, creeds, religions, cultures, economic backgrounds, and gender and form the Nation as a single entity. The oneness of the Nation makes it powerful enough to stand firm on an international platform.
