Different types of fossil fuels can also be regarded as important.
Important five types of fuels
In order to understand the significance of every fuel, the identification of types of fuels needs to be perfect.- Methanol can be mentioned as an important type of fuel. Methanol can be mentioned as the simplest form of alcohol and presented as CH3OH. This fuel can be utilized directly by blending this with gasoline. In order to produce other important fuel additives like MTBE, methanol is found to be widely used.
- Another important type of fuel can be mentioned as petrol. Petrol can also be mentioned as gasoline. The usage of this type of fuel is mainly found in terms of vehicles.
- Diesel can be regarded as another important type of fuel. In order to run an engine of any vehicle such as boats, trains, and barges, diesel is found to be widely used in recent times.
- LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) can be considered as one of the most important and beneficial fuels in recent times. In terms of maintaining a healthy environment and reducing pollution, this fuel is found applicable and significant.
- Bio-diesel can also be considered as another important type of fuel that is used directly in an engine by not changing into any other forms.
Different types of fossil fuels
In order to understand the significance of fuels in daily life, previously-mentioned types of fuels need to be considered as important. In this regard, various types of fossil fuels are also relevant. Some important types of fossil fuels are coal, petroleum, heavy oils, oil shale, bitumen, natural gas, and tar sand. Fossil fuels are found to have been formed millions of years ago from the remaining parts of plants and animals. On the basis of these, the three most important fossil fuels can be mentioned as natural gas, coal, and oil.Application of fossil fuels
- Coal, as one of the most important types of fuels, is widely used in recent times. Coal can be said as a solid-state of fossil fuel. The five most important elements of coal are oxygen, sulphur, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen. In the steel, pharmaceutical, and cement manufacturing industry, this fuel fossil is found to be widely regarded as important.
- Petroleum, also known as crude oil can be mentioned as an important example of fossil fuel. This fuel is generally used in generating electricity. As an important fuel for jets and automobiles, petroleum is very important.
- Natural gas is often found to contain methane. This fossil fuel is mainly used in cooking appliances such as fuel stoves and air conditioners, water heaters. In the transportation process of LNG and CNG, this fossil fuel is found to be widely used.
Impact of fossils fuels on climate change
According to IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), one of the most important reasons for global warming is the emissions of fossil fuels. Recent changes in global temperature are also found to be caused by excessive usage of fossil fuels. In order to evaluate the impacts of fossil fuels on climate change, different types of fuels need to be identified and analyzed first.- Coal, as a fossil fuel, is found to be the dirtiest fossil fuel. The usage of coal can be considered as the most important and single largest source of high global temperature.
- Global climate is also negatively affected by carbon emissions, caused by using crude oil, petroleum.
