The pay at the Naval Academy and National Defence Academy has changed significantly since the Seventh Pay Commission was implemented. The upper hand of the pay scale for NDA candidates begins as soon as the training programme begins. Throughout this training session at Indian Military Academy (IMA), participants will receive a stipend of ₹ 56,100.
Along with pursuing their desire to serve their country, candidates for the Army, IAF, or Navy must be interested in learning more about the specific salary, benefits, and in-hand income of NDA. However, the table below shows the payment of NDA at each rank, starting with the trainee.

NDA Stipend
Stipend for Army Officers’ Cadet Training and Equivalent Positions in the Navy and Air Force:

The payment of NDA candidates in the salary scale of the officer commissioned will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10 following successful completion of the NDA Training. Applicants should be aware that the NDA training term is not contemplated commissioned service and that the cadets are paid dues for allowable allowances (where applicable) throughout the training time.

NDA Permit – Important Notes
- Pune, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Greater Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Surat, Kochi, Bengaluru, Indore, Nagpur, Kozhikode, and Chennai are TPTA (Transport Allowance) Cities with higher rankings.
- The TPTA allowance is available to NDA service members with access to public transit.
- The opportunity to drive an official car is available to NDA officers with Pay Level 14 and above, who are entitled to draw the Transport Allowance (TPTA) of ₹ 15,750 Dearness Allowance afterwards.
- The entire calendar months during which leave was taken are eligible for the allowance.
- The physically disabled service members will continue to receive double pay, up to a maximum of ₹ 2,250 Dearness Allowances.
Flying Compensation
The Army Aviation Corps is authorised to provide a flying allowance to pilots and Army aviators at a rate of ₹ 25,000 per month.

The officers serving in the Indian Security Forces are also eligible for a few more allowances in addition to their NDA Salary, Dearness Allowances, Travel Allowances, Flying Allowances, etc. These are
