1)56 passengers are travelling in a bus. Each bought a Rs 40 ticket to travel. What will be the total amount paid by the 56 passengers?

Solution:

According to the question, if each bought a 40 rupees ticket, each pay, 1 x 40 = 40 rupees.

Amount paid by all 56 passengers will be

56 x 40 = 2240.

Therefore the total amount paid by 56 passengers to travel on the bus is Rs 2240.

2) Ayush spends 120 rupees on fuel for his car. How much money will he spend in 56 days?

Money spent by Ayush each day = 120 rupees

Money spent by Ayush in 56 days = Money spent by Ayush each day x 56 days

=> 120 x 56 = 6720

 Therefore the money spent by Ayush in 56 days is Rs 6729.

3) A box contains 56 pears. How many pears can 50 boxes contain?

According to the question one box contains 56 pears i.e., 1 x 56 = 56

So, fifty boxes will contain : 50 x 56 = 2800

Therefore 50 boxes will contain 2800 pears.

4) What is 11 times 56 minus 32 plus 29?

With the help of the multiplication Table of 56, we find out that 11 times 56, i.e., 11 x 56 = 616,

Now we have to subtract 32 by the result of 11 times 56, so,

=> 616 – 32 = 584

=> 584 + 29 = 613 

Therefore, 11 times 56 minus 32 plus 29 is 613.
