Find out the value of 17 times 10 subtracted by 9 plus 3 with help of a table of 17. 

Using Table 17,

17 times 10 subtracted by 9 plus 3

17×10-9+3

= 170-6

= 164

Therefore the value of 17 times 10 subtracted by 9 plus 3 is 164.

Solved Example 3 

Riya has collected Pencils from 17 different cities and from each city she has collected 5 pencils. Now, how many pencils does she have with her with the help of a table of 17? 

Riya Visited No of Cities = 17

No of pencils collected from each city = 5

Total no of pencils she has with her = 17×5 = 85

Thus, Riya has a total of 85 pencils with her.
