Congress Party also called Indian National Congress is one of the biggest parties of India and the oldest too. The Congress party established in 1885 is to date the most well-known party of all and holds a major impact in many states of the country.

A British Indian Civil Service (ICS) official named Allen Octavian Hume who was a retired officer established this party Indian National Congress having a thought in mind to give a platform for common and political interests among the educated and literate Indians. When the Indian Rebellion of 1857 began, the control of India then shifted to the British Empire from the East India Company. There came the era of English ruling India, which was better known as the British Raj which was also known as Rajj attempted to attempt to help and legitimise its administration of India with the guidance of English-instructed Indians, who would, in general, be more acquainted with and cordial to Britishers culture and political reasoning. Unexpectedly, a couple of the reasons that the Congress developed and made due, especially in the nineteenth century period of British strength or authority, was because of the support of British specialists and the growing category of Indians and Anglo-Indians instructed in the English based western British practice.
